On November 18th, photos and videos circulating on social media showed that a Xiaopeng car fell from the second floor of the delivery center, overturning the entire body and severely damaging the front end. Due to the vehicle breaking the guardrail upstairs, the guardrail fell and injured another Xiaopeng P7 parked downstairs for charging. A Xiaopeng car overcharged pile was also hit.
Judging from the on-site images, the accident occurred at Xiaopeng Automobile Shenzhen Guanlan Delivery Center. Interface News called the store regarding this matter, and the service personnel told Interface News that there is indeed this matter, and the specific details are not convenient to disclose.
Personnel from FAW Volkswagen stores in the same area revealed to Interface News that around 2pm this year, a Xiaopeng car suddenly crashed and hit the facilities downstairs, without any casualties. The staff of the local Guanlan police station told the interface news that the cause of the accident is still under investigation and there are currently no casualties.
In response to this matter, Xiaopeng Automobile responded to the interface news that after a customer in Shenzhen completed normal vehicle maintenance, the accelerator brake was reversed and rushed out of the parking area on the second floor and fell. There were no casualties in the accident, and the charging stations and vehicles below the incident area were damaged.
Last June, at NIO Automotive's Shanghai Jiading headquarters, a testing vehicle fell from a height on the third floor, resulting in the deaths of two digital cockpit testers. NIO Motors stated that this was an accident (not caused by the vehicle).
In April 2021, the Xiaopeng P5 was officially released to the public, focusing on promoting the urban NGP assisted driving function. The Xiaopeng P5 is divided into three versions: G, E, and P. The most expensive version, the P version, is equipped with LiDAR and can achieve urban driving assistance. Although the Xiaopeng P5 car had already been mass-produced at the time, it did not support this feature at the beginning of delivery. Xiaopeng Automobile announced that it would upgrade and open up the use of urban roads nationwide through OTA in the future.
According to promotional information, the CNGP function will be launched for the first time by the end of 2022. But recently, about 300 Xiaopeng car owners have issued a joint complaint letter stating that after two years of collecting the car, the urban driving assistance function CNGP can only be used on some road sections in five cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Foshan.
On the contrary, Xiaopeng Automobile's other advanced intelligent driving solution, XNGP, is receiving more attention. Officials say it can reduce dependence on high-precision maps and will open 50 cities by the end of this year.
In October of this year, Xiaopeng Automobile delivered 20000 new cars for the first time, including 8741 main models Xiaopeng G6 and 2055 Xiaopeng P5. As of September 30th, the number of physical sales networks of Xiaopeng Automobile is 395.
On November 15th, Xiaopeng Automobile released its performance report for the third quarter of 2023, which showed that Xiaopeng Automobile's revenue in the third quarter was 8.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.0% and a month on month increase of 68.5%.
However, Xiaopeng Automobile has not yet achieved quarterly profit, with a net loss of 3.89 billion yuan and a gross profit margin of -2.7% in the third quarter.
