On April 2nd, the American Steelworkers Union stated that it will not support the draft agreement drafted by Nippon Steel to acquire American steel companies. Last December, Nippon Steel agreed to acquire American steel company for approximately $15 billion, but the deal faced a difficult approval process in the face of opposition from both parties in the US election year. The United Steelworkers of America stated that it received a draft agreement from Nippon Steel on March 27th.
