Southern Metropolitan Airlines learned from Latham Airlines that on March 11th local time, a Boeing 787 aircraft encountered severe turbulence during its flight from Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand to Santiago, Chile, causing multiple injuries. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
The airline stated that on the 11th local time, its LA800 flight experienced severe turbulence on the route from Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand and Santiago, Chile. It landed at Auckland Airport at 16:26 local time on the same day. The aircraft involved is a Boeing 787 passenger plane. After the incident, 10 passengers and 3 crew members were taken to the medical center to confirm their health status. Most of them were quickly discharged, and only one passenger and one crew member needed further treatment, but their lives were not in danger.
