On December 12th, Meta Platforms confirmed that they have donated $1 million to the inauguration fund of US President elect Trump.
According to reports, this is different from the past practices of Zuckerberg and Meta. Previously, Trump had threatened during his campaign that if Zuckerberg attempted to influence the election results against him, he would "punish" him.
The US federal campaign finance report shows that Zuckerberg has been supporting congressional candidates from both parties for many years and has largely not participated in presidential campaign donations. Public records show that neither Zuckerberg nor Meta donated to Trump's 2017 inauguration fundraising committee or Biden's 2021 fundraising committee. (Wall Street Journal)
