On January 16th Eastern Time, Apple announced the official launch of the Vision Pro App Store before the release of its first hybrid reality (MR) head mounted display device, Vision Pro, on February 2nd.
Apple launches Vision Pro App Store
The VisionOS app store not only offers applications designed specifically to leverage the features of Vision Pro, but also offers iOS applications - these iOS applications can run in 2D mode on Vision Pro devices.

For app developers, existing iOS applications can be directly ported to Vision Pro without requiring any action from developers. However, developers can choose not to have their applications appear on Vision Pro.
With the launch of Vision Pro's App Store, it is expected that Apple will soon adjust the apps on the iOS App Store in its app list; Quota; Compatibility; Quota; Under the section, display whether the application is compatible with Vision Pro.
According to Apple's previous announcement, the Vision Pro app store will contain over one million applications, including productivity tools such as Keynote and Microsoft Office, video conferencing software Slack and Zoom, streaming application Disney+, and games such as Fruit Ninja and Sonic Dream Team.

Developers and journalists will conduct early reviews
According to feedback from developers who submitted for visionOS application review earlier this month, they have received an email from Apple informing them that the relevant application has passed the review and can appear in the visionOS App Store.
Although consumers are currently unable to use the Vision Pro headset, reviewers who own the device can try out these third-party applications developed for Vision Pro in advance.
Since Apple officially released Vision Pro at the 2023 Global Developers Conference, Apple has been hosting laboratories around the world to allow developers to test their applications on new hardware.
Apple also claimed that they will meet with some media from January 16th to provide review equipment and give reviewers sufficient time to test the application.
The Vision Pro will start booking at 5am Eastern Time this Friday (January 19th) and will be officially released on February 2nd, with a starting price of $3499.
