Taipei, January 10th (Xinhua) - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (referred to as "TSMC") announced on the 10th that its revenue for December 2023 was 176.3 billion yuan (New Taiwan dollars, the same below), a decrease of 14.4% from November and an annual decrease of 8.4%, reaching a six month low; The total annual revenue was 2161.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%, but it has exceeded expectations.
According to reports from Taiwan media such as Central News Agency, United News Network, and Economic Daily, TSMC released its revenue report on the same day, which showed a combined revenue of 625.5 billion yuan in the fourth quarter of 2023, a quarterly increase of 14.4%, and has reached its expected target.
TSMC recently announced that with the global semiconductor recovery, effective destocking of the industry chain, and continuous expansion of artificial intelligence applications, its performance in 2024 is expected to return to the growth track, with revenue possibly reaching 2.5 trillion yuan, an annual increase of over 15%. The annual US dollar revenue is expected to exceed 80 billion US dollars for the first time.
According to a previous report by the Business Times, TSMC's 3-nanometer process chips have been in mass production for about a year. With increasing orders from manufacturers, the monthly production in 2024 will reach 100000 pieces, and the capacity utilization rate is expected to increase to 80% by the end of 2024. (End)
