On November 20th, sources in the semiconductor industry revealed that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are each developing a prototype of the sixth generation high bandwidth memory (HBM4) chip for Tesla. Industry sources say Tesla has requested both companies to provide generic HBM4 chips and is expected to select one of them as its HBM4 supplier after testing samples from both companies.
