At around 10:00 local time on January 9th, a Boeing 737-800 aircraft belonging to Russia's Northern Star Airlines crashed off the runway during landing, but fortunately no casualties were reported. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
According to previous reports from Southern Metropolis Daily, on the afternoon of January 5th local time, an emergency hatch suddenly fell off on an Alaska Airlines flight departing from Portland, Oregon. Shortly after, the plane made an emergency landing and the aircraft involved was a Boeing 737MAX9 passenger plane. After the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States ordered a temporary grounding of Boeing 737MAX9 aircraft for safety checks on the 6th, United Airlines also grounded multiple aircraft of the same model and conducted safety checks. On the 8th local time, United Airlines of the United States announced that preliminary inspections have found multiple Boeing 737MAX9 aircraft with loose screws, but did not disclose the specific number of aircraft involved.
As the Boeing incident in the United States continued to escalate, on the morning of the 9th local time, the Office of the West Siberian Traffic Prosecutor in Russia issued a statement stating that at around 10 o'clock that day, a Boeing 737-800 aircraft flying from Krasnoyarsk to Norilsk slipped off the runway during its landing at Norilsk International Airport. It is reported that the aircraft involved belongs to Russia's "Northern Star" airline. At the time of the incident, there were 169 passengers on board, but fortunately there were no casualties. The relevant local departments are investigating the cause of the accident. The airport is currently operating normally.
