On September 20th, the new SUV under the Jike brand, Jike 7X, was officially launched. Jike CEO An Conghui stated that he hopes it will become a "hit" in the SUV field.
At the press conference, Jike 7X released three versions with prices ranging from 229900 yuan to 269900 yuan. An Conghui admitted that in his 28 years at Geely, he has participated in the pricing of new car models multiple times. The pricing of the Jike 7X was the most difficult this time because the fierce market environment did not allow Jike to make any mistakes.
In the 20 days since the release of the Chengdu Auto Show, the number of pre-sale orders for the Extreme Krypton 7X has exceeded 58000, with an average of 2921 new orders per day. Now, the starting price of the new car has been lowered by 10000 yuan from the pre-sale price. An Conghui said, "Considering the expectations of users and the competitive environment in the market, we have finally determined today's price, which we believe is reasonable and competitive, and can also be recognized by a large number of users and consumers
Regarding the sales expectations of the Extreme Krypton 7X, An Conghui told reporters from the International Finance News in a post meeting interview that the goal of the Extreme Krypton 7X is to become a benchmark in the pure electric SUV segment market.
In the eyes of Extreme Krypton, whether it can become a "hot model" in the segmented market determines the success or failure of this car, and the pursuit of "hot models" has already been deeply engraved in Extreme Krypton's "DNA".
Since its establishment, Jike has been pursuing "explosive" models in various niche markets, including Jike 001 in the hunting car segment, Jike 009 in the luxury MPV segment, and Jike 007 in the mid to large sedan segment. These three cars have strong competitiveness in their respective niche markets.
But in the SUV market, Jike has not yet "succeeded". The Extreme Krypton X, which was launched in April last year, did not become a "hot selling product" in this field. Due to its compact space and high price of 180000 yuan, it cannot be accepted by the current market. In the first eight months of this year, the cumulative sales of Jike X were only 5539 units, with an average monthly sales of less than 700 units.
Therefore, the Jike 7X has taken over the company's dream of creating a "hot" SUV track. From various product data, the Jike 7X has the potential to become a "hot" model.
The length, width, and height of the Extreme Krypton 7X are 4825mm, 1930mm, and 1656mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2925mm, surpassing most models in the same class, including Model Y, Xiaopeng G6, etc. At the same time, due to the absence of a sloping design in the exterior design, it achieved a occupancy rate of 83.34%; In terms of safety, An Conghui refers to the Extreme Krypton 7X as a "road tank", and the new car adopts a "dome armor body" safety structure design, with 7 airbags as standard across the entire series.
In terms of intelligence, the Jike 7X adopts ZEEKR AI OS intelligent cockpit and Haohan Intelligent Driving 2.0, which are Jike's latest intelligent technologies; In terms of kinetic energy, the entire range of Extreme Krypton comes standard with an 800V high-voltage platform and a high-performance silicon carbide electric drive system, providing both single motor and dual motor power options. The dual motor version has a maximum power of 475kW and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.8 seconds.
If the Extreme Krypton 7X is successful, it will help the overall delivery volume of Extreme Krypton reach another level.
In the first eight months of this year, Jike delivered a total of 121500 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 81%. However, the company's annual delivery target for this year is 230000 vehicles, and the current completion rate is only 52.8%.
Regarding this, An Conghui stated that this goal is challenging, but Jike still has confidence. At the same time, he believes that Jike is the earliest pure electric brand expected to make profits after Tesla, and expressed confidence in achieving the target of a 15% gross profit margin for the entire year.
The success of a new product depends not only on order volume, but also on delivery performance. Previously, many new cars missed out on popularity and were forgotten by the market due to production capacity not keeping up and delivery not being smooth.
Regarding this, Lin Jinwen, Vice President of Jike, stated that Jike has strong supply chain and production delivery system capabilities. "Unlike other competitors, Jike 7X has produced a batch of 'Zhenxuan' models for a long time and started delivery after their launch. There are only 10 days left in September, but it is conservatively estimated that there will be around 3000 vehicles delivered.
He added that starting from October, the production capacity ramp up of Jike 7X will accelerate, and the goal of delivering more than five figures by the end of this year is inevitable.
According to this calculation, while ensuring the current delivery volume, with the ramp up of delivery of the Jike 7X, it will exceed 20000 deliveries per month in September. Combined with the upcoming Jike MIX in the fourth quarter, the overall delivery volume of the company may see a significant increase.
After the first SUV hit a wall, the Jike 7X is not to be underestimated. Whether it can become the SUV "bestseller" in An Conghui's mouth and help the company achieve a new high in delivery volume depends on its true delivery performance in the future.
