According to a statement by Shell and ExxonMobil on July 3, prior to Hurricane Beryl, Shell began shutting down its production on the Perdido platform in the Gulf of Mexico, while BP (British Petroleum) and ExxonMobil began evacuating non essential personnel from their Mad Dog and Hoover platforms, respectively.
