On September 11th, Vale announced that it has started debugging the wet beneficiation operation of the Vargem Grande 1 project, which will increase the annual iron ore production capacity of the Vargem Grande 1 comprehensive operation area in Minas Gerais, Brazil by approximately 15 million tons. The Dawar Ren No.1 project includes adjusting the water circuit and waste isolation system of VGR1, activating new equipment to restore wet beneficiation operations, and is expected to increase the average iron grade of the plant by about 2% as a result. This project is an important step taken by the company towards its goal of achieving an annual iron ore production capacity of 340 million to 360 million tons by 2026. It will enable Vale to improve product portfolio quality, expand production capacity, and enhance operational flexibility.
