Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and its parent company Alphabet, will testify on October 30th local time regarding Google's anti monopoly case in the search field.
The US government has stated that Google, which accounts for about 90% of the search market, annually sells to smartphone manufacturers such as Apple and AT& Wireless operators such as T illegally paid about $10 billion to make it the default search engine. Google's influence in the search industry has made it a major player in the lucrative advertising business, thereby boosting its profitability.
Google, on the other hand, stated that its investment is to maintain the competitiveness of its search and advertising businesses. If customers are not satisfied with the default settings, they can switch to different search providers.
