Apple announced on January 17th that it will sell Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches without blood oxygen detection in the US market starting from 6am Pacific Time on Thursday.
Recently, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals in the United States refused to extend Apple's suspension order against the International Trade Commission (ITC) import ban. This ruling means that Apple must stop selling watches with blood oxygen detection function during the appeal period, and Apple believes that the appeal period may last for one year or more.
ITC ruled in October last year that the Apple Series 9 and Ultra 2 series watches infringed on the blood oxygen testing related patents of medical technology company Masimo. This led to Apple suspending sales of related smartwatches before Christmas, but the subsequent suspension order issued by the US appeals court allowed Apple to resume sales in the US at the end of last month.
