The first manned test flight of Boeing's interstellar aircraft, originally scheduled for the night of the 6th, has been cancelled due to valve failure on the Cosmos 5 rocket carrying the spacecraft.
The interstellar aircraft was originally scheduled to begin its first manned test flight at 22:34 Eastern Time on the 6th (10:34 Beijing Time on the 7th), and was launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in Florida aboard the Cosmos 5 carrier rocket. On the 6th, NASA announced the cancellation of the launch mission during an online live broadcast. At that time, about 2 hours before the scheduled launch time, two American astronauts had already entered the spacecraft.
Technicians assisted two astronauts in leaving the spacecraft and waiting for the next test flight. There is currently no definite news on whether the interstellar aircraft will conduct another manned test flight on the night of the 7th.
Boeing originally planned to undertake more manned space missions after the successful test flight to transport astronauts from NASA to the International Space Station. Boeing signed a contract with NASA in 2014 to develop a spacecraft for commercial manned spaceflight missions. The spacecraft was originally scheduled to be delivered and put into operation in 2017, but due to technical issues, it has been delayed multiple times and has yet to complete the manned test flight.
