Google announced on April 10th local time that it will invest $1 billion to improve digital connectivity between the United States and Japan through two new submarine cables. The company stated in a blog post that these two submarine cables, named Proa and Taihei, will improve connectivity between the United States, Japan, and multiple Pacific island countries and regions.
