Shell plans to spin off 1000 gas stations within two years and expand its electric vehicle charging network

On March 18th, Shell announced in its latest energy transformation strategy that it is upgrading its retail network, expanding electric vehicle charging and convenience services to meet ever-changing customer demands. "We plan to divest approximately 500 Shell owned gas stations (including joint ventures) annually this year and next.".
Shell stated that it will focus on public charging stations. Shell expects the number of global public charging terminals to increase to 200000 by 2030, compared to only 54000 currently.
