According to CCTV International News, today (11th), a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operated by LATAM Airlines, flying from Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand, made a sharp landing and experienced severe turbulence. At around 4 pm local time, the plane landed at Auckland Airport.
According to The New Zealand Herald, 24 people on board were injured. Other media reports suggest that about 50 people on board were injured and receiving treatment, with one person seriously injured. The New Zealand Herald reported that the bumpy landing of this Boeing aircraft was due to "technical issues". Currently, neither Boeing nor Latham Airways have responded to this.
Recently, Boeing planes have experienced frequent accidents.
On the 8th local time, in Texas, USA, a Boeing 737 aircraft slid off the runway during landing, but fortunately did not cause any casualties. Video footage taken by witnesses shows that after landing, the aircraft's fuselage tilted, with one wing almost touching the ground. United Airlines did not explain the reason for the aircraft deviating from the runway. The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States will conduct an investigation into the accident.
On the 7th, a Boeing 777-200 aircraft from San Francisco to Osaka, Japan, operated by United Airlines, experienced a tire drop during takeoff, resulting in damage to multiple cars in the ground parking lot and a brief closure of one runway at the airport.
On the 4th, a Boeing 737 aircraft flying from Houston to Fort Myers by United Airlines caught fire in one of its engines after takeoff, forcing the aircraft to return.
