Ford Motor Co Chief Executive Jim Farley said on Friday the company was waiting for an agreement with the United Auto Workers union and clarity on content rules in President Joe Biden's Lower Inflation Act. Before moving forward with plans for a battery plant in Marshall, Michigan. Farley said the company and the union are close to a record wage and benefits deal, but talks on job security at the battery plant have stalled. The union announced Friday that it was extending the strike to a Ford SUV plant in Chicago. In addition to the battery plant, the UAW said retirement benefits and health care are sticking points.
