Tmall Global recently released its 10th anniversary transcript. Since the official launch of Tmall Global in 2014, over 46000 brands have settled in so far. At the same time, Tmall Global has formed a global logistics supply chain network, covering over 100 overseas warehouses, 500 international transportation arteries, 40 core ports, and over 100 bonded warehouses.
According to the relevant person in charge of Tmall Global, from the perspective of consumer groups, male consumers and silver haired consumers have rapidly risen in consumption. Since 2014, the cumulative consumption growth rate has reached 2900% and 2030%, respectively; Female consumers remain the core consumer group, accounting for 72%. By industry, the categories of maternal and child health, pet health, and outdoor sports have seen rapid growth. Since 2014, the cumulative consumption growth rates have reached 680%, 260%, and 1780%, respectively.
"The decade of Tmall Global's development has also been a decade of tremendous changes in China's overseas shopping market. In the past, consumers relied on purchasing agents for overseas shopping, but now, consumers only need to open the software to achieve 'one click buy global'." Tmall Global's General Manager Dong Zhenzhen said, "At the same time, Tmall Global has also witnessed the huge potential of the Chinese consumer market. For example, in 2016, the Spanish Amperex brand MartiDerm Joined Tmall Global and achieved sales exceeding 20 million yuan within 5 months. After Japanese trendy headphone brand Ambie joined Tmall Global, its growth rate reached 200%, surpassing Japan's domestic market
"In the past three years, the number of platform products has doubled, with the total number of products exceeding the million level. The younger generation is becoming the main consumer force on the platform, and two-thirds of Tmall Global's users are post-90s consumers," said Dong Zhenzhen.
"In the past decade, our exchange with the world has accelerated. Over the past decade, Tmall Global has established a global infrastructure network, making over 200 million world goods within reach." Economist Xue Zhaofeng said that the strong consumption vitality of the Chinese market has enabled import trade to cross economic cycles and flourish.
