On February 2nd, sources revealed that the board of directors of Vale is scheduled to hold a special meeting this Friday, but the meeting may end without making a final decision. The meeting aims to evaluate and decide whether Eduardo Bartolomeo, the current CEO of Vale, should continue to serve.
In January, it was reported that Brazilian President Lula hoped that his staunch ally, former Brazilian Finance Minister Gido Mantega, would replace Eduardo Bartolomeo as CEO after his term expired in May this year. (Bloomberg)
