On October 20th, Vipshop, a specialty e-commerce platform, announced a strategic cooperation with China National Inspection and Quarantine Corporation. The two sides will deepen cooperation in various aspects such as product quality inspection and certification, corporate social responsibility, and create a digital, standardized, and replicable consumer product quality assurance system.
As a special selling platform, how to build a more trusting relationship with consumers has always been a key focus of Vipshop's construction. Liu Luxun, Assistant CEO of Vipshop, said: "This time, we are deepening our cooperation with China Inspection and Quarantine Corporation (CICC), hoping to leverage CICC's professional capabilities in quality inspection and testing to provide beneficial supplements to Vipshop's quality control system. From a consumer perspective, it is equivalent to Vipshop adding an additional guarantee for product quality in addition to the supply chain guarantee, which can enhance consumers' trust in purchasing products
Only by ensuring the quality of goods can we lay a solid foundation for high-value commodity business. According to Vipshop's financial report, in the first half of this year, the sales of high value products on Vipshop's platform increased by 31% year-on-year. As of the second quarter of 2023, Vipshop had 45.7 million active users, including 6.7 million core SVIP users, which contributed 44% of its online sales. In the second quarter of 2023, Vipshop's total net income was 27.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%.
