US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned on Wednesday that Yemeni Hussain forces will face serious consequences if they continue to launch attacks in the Red Sea region, and the United States and its allies will respond to this.
When visiting Bahrain on the same day, Antony Blinken told the media: "I will not predict anything that may happen, but we have made it clear to more than 20 other countries that if the situation continues as it did yesterday, the Hussain armed forces will face serious consequences."
Antony Blinken pointed out that in the efforts to prevent the spread of regional conflicts, it is particularly important that the United States and its allies must respond when they see attacks by Hussain armed forces. "This is a clear threat to the interests of countries around the world. It is important for the international community to unite and respond to these issues."
On the same day, American officials also stated that the United States was "considering all options" as they attempted to establish as much international consensus as possible on the necessity of stopping the armed forces in Housa.
According to British officials, the UK's position in negotiations with the United States has always been that attacks should focus on maritime operations, rather than on Yemen itself, as there is a risk of conflict escalation.
On Tuesday evening, the Houser armed forces launched an attack on US warships using missiles and drones in retaliation for the sinking of three Houser armed speedboats on December 31 last year, resulting in the death of 10 people. It is reported that a total of three US military ships and one British military ship were attacked by the Houser armed forces, which also reflects that the United States and its allies have yet to stop the actions of the Houser armed forces.
According to a statement from the US Central Command, the US Navy shot down 24 missiles and drones launched by the Houthi militants from Yemen on Tuesday, marking the first military operation by the Houthi militants against a US warship in the Red Sea.
Risk escalation
Just after Antony Blinken issued the warning, Muhammad Abdul Salam, the spokesman of the Hussain armed forces and the chief negotiator, issued a statement saying that at present, the shipping lanes of the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea are safe. The United States said that the threat to the relevant sea areas is misleading the world and trying to make the Red Navy a reality. The attacks of the Hussain armed forces are only aimed at relevant Israeli targets.
Mohammed also stated that the Houthi militants will continue to attack Israeli ships and ships heading to Israeli ports until Israel stops military operations against the Gaza Strip and lifts the blockade.
The actions and statements of both sides indicate that there is no sign of easing in the Red Sea situation, and the possibility of conflict erupting is increasing.
Last week, the United States, the United Kingdom, and major allies issued warnings to the Houser militants, demanding that the organization stop attacking international shipping in the Red Sea, otherwise it would bear the consequences, but no action was taken afterwards.
The Hussai armed forces have recently launched dozens of attacks, leading many shipping companies to declare their departure from this major trade route, disrupting the supply chain, driving up freight costs, and having an impact on the global economy.
