On the 9th, the reporter learned from Boeing that Boeing issued a statement regarding the 737-9 inspection, stating that while users conduct the required inspections, we are maintaining close contact with them and will assist in addressing any and all issues discovered.
"We are committed to ensuring that every Boeing aircraft meets design specifications and the highest safety and quality standards. We regret the impact on our customers and their passengers," Boeing said.
Recently, a Boeing 737-9 aircraft operated by Alaska Airlines in the United States had its left center rear emergency hatch detached from the fuselage during flight and made an emergency landing. After the accident, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States ordered the grounding and inspection of Boeing 737-9 aircraft. Several airlines have also taken measures to ground the aircraft models involved.
On January 9th, according to the latest news from the National Transportation Safety Commission of the United States, the cabin door of the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft that experienced an accident on January 5th has been found to have fallen off in mid air.
The National Transportation Safety Board of the United States also stated that although both "black boxes" of this aircraft have been found, the "cockpit voice recorder" among them was covered with new data related to emergency landing when it was retrieved by search personnel (i.e. more than 2 hours of recording time for the "cockpit voice recorder").
According to media reports, Boeing has delivered 218 737-9 aircraft, of which American Airlines owns the most. In addition, airlines in Mexico, Türkiye, Panama, the United Arab Emirates and Iceland also have this type of aircraft.
The reporter searched the websites of several domestic airlines, including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines, and did not find any information about the 737-9 aircraft model. Regarding this, civil aviation expert Li Hanming stated that this is because the Civil Aviation Administration of China has not yet approved the airworthiness certification for the 737-9, and domestic airlines are temporarily unable to purchase this model.
Li Hanming also stated that there are no domestic aircraft that adopt the "door blocking" design on the 737-9. Therefore, the impact of this accident on domestic passengers can be almost negligible.
