On December 21st, Yihang Intelligence announced that its EH216-S unmanned manned aircraft has obtained a standard airworthiness certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Civil Aviation Administration of China"), becoming the world's first unmanned manned electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to obtain airworthiness certificates.
EH216-S is produced by the Yihang Intelligent Cloud Float Production Base and was awarded a model certificate by the Civil Aviation Administration of China in October 2023. It follows standard production procedures under the supervision of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Industry insiders introduce that the issuance of the airworthiness certificate indicates that the aircraft product complies with the approved model design and meets the safety and quality requirements of commercial operations. This milestone also signifies that Yihang Intelligence's manufacturing capabilities, test flights, quality assurance, and production management level comply with relevant regulations and have been recognized by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
It is reported that the first EH216-S to obtain an airworthiness certificate has been delivered to Guangzhou Yitong Zhihang Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yitong Zhihang"). Yitong Zhihang is an aviation intelligent technology enterprise under the Guangzhou Development Zone Transportation Investment Group, a state-owned enterprise in Huangpu District, Guangzhou.
