TSMC's new plant in Japan plans to produce 55000 pieces of 12 inch wafers per month. Yuichi Horita, President of TSMC's Kumamoto plant in Japan, stated at the Japan International Semiconductor Show that after the new plant starts mass production in the fourth quarter of 2024, it will gradually increase production capacity, with a target of fully loading 55000 pieces of 12 inch wafers per month. At the same time, it will increase the proportion of Japan's local semiconductor supply chain and ecosystem, with a target of 60% by 2030, far higher than the current 25%.
