On the evening of December 25th, Li Xiang, Chairman of Ideal Automobile, proposed at the "2024 Ideal AI Talk" event that automobiles will evolve from industrial transportation tools to space robots in the AI era. Li Xiang said that the probability of an ideal car becoming a robot is 100%, but the pace is not right now. If we can't even solve L4 level autonomous driving cars, how can we solve more complex application scenarios? Cars are the simplest robots, and if cars cannot achieve it, other artificial intelligence robots are still very limited
Li Xiang previously stated that the goal of Ideal Automobile is to become an AI enterprise. In September 2022, Ideal Auto had already decided internally to make AI a truly important direction and believed it to be the key to future competition. When releasing its strategic vision at the beginning of 2023, Ideal Auto officially announced its AI strategy.
In Li Xiang's view, artificial intelligence (AGI) will go through three stages: the first stage, called "enhancing my abilities", means that it is actually an assistant to humans, but the final decision-making power lies with humans. For example, L3's autonomous driving is supervised autonomous driving. The second stage is "becoming my assistant", which means that as long as a person gives it a task, or even a continuous task, it can independently complete it and take responsibility for the results, such as L4 autonomous driving. The automotive industry, only by achieving L4, is the true stage of iPhone 4, but today it is not yet. In the third stage, Li Xiang called it the "silicon-based family", which does not require any further instructions to AI. It is a family member, even an important organizer of the family.
As a step towards becoming an artificial intelligence enterprise, Ideal Auto's personal assistant for car infotainment, "Ideal Classmate," will be available on mobile phones. The mobile app will be launched on December 27th, with functions similar to Doubao, Kimi, and ChatGPT.
Li Xiang said that the reason why "ideal students" enter mobile phones from car phones is mainly because, in the long run, a truly large model product must be able to independently use all devices and have all services under the premise of mastering the base model. This is the true artificial intelligence.
Li wants to reveal that from the perspective of user needs, many ideal users' children are the first to come into contact with artificial intelligence products called "Ideal Classmates". During the conversation with "Ideal Classmates", they help them solve some problems. We hope to enable the over one million users of Ideal Auto, along with their families, approximately 3-5 million people, to experience consistent artificial intelligence products not only in cars, but also on mobile phones, computers, and even glasses
