On December 6th, Wenyuan Zhixing WeRide and Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: Uber, hereinafter referred to as "Uber"), the world's largest mobile travel and delivery technology company, announced that their collaborative autonomous driving travel service has officially landed in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
This is the first time Uber has launched autonomous vehicles outside the United States, and it is also the largest commercial Robotaxi fleet outside of the United States and China.
This landing has received strong support from the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) and is a crucial step in making autonomous vehicles a part of daily life in the region. Tawasul Transport, the leading transportation company in the United Arab Emirates, will serve as the fleet operator.
Li Xuan, CFO and Head of International Business at Wenyuan Zhixing, emphasized the company's commitment to service safety and reliability: "Wenyuan Zhixing always puts the safety of passengers and pedestrians first, and adopts mature and rigorously validated autonomous driving technology. Through over 1800 days of public operation, we have demonstrated our commitment to safety and set a new benchmark for the practical application of autonomous driving
