The leaders of the two countries once again confirmed their support for the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia, and reiterated the importance of stable and constructive bilateral relations. Both sides reiterated the importance of the 1972 Joint Communiqu é between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Australia on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Australia, reaffirming their respective national policies and positions in the joint communique, including mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, stable development, and Australia's commitment to the One China policy. Both sides unanimously believe that as long as differences are properly handled, the two countries can develop bilateral relations and safeguard their respective national interests.
