On October 10th, a reporter from China Securities Journal and China Securities Taurus learned that WeChat now supports opening Taobao links for direct shopping. Users can directly click on the Taobao link within the WeChat app to complete orders and payments, without the need to jump back to the Taobao app. The WeChat app supports Taobao shopping by default and supports the use of WeChat Pay.
The reporter noticed that some Taobao links are currently unable to place orders and make payments on the WeChat app.
In September, Taobao's support for WeChat Pay attracted attention. On September 27, the official microblog of Taobao said that Taobao has supported multiple payment methods such as Alipay and WeChat payment, and users can experience it by updating the app to the latest version.
Pan Helin, a member of the Information and Communication Economy Expert Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, believes that under the leadership of Taobao and WeChat, cooperation between different platforms and payment companies will become more frequent and close. This is beneficial to business development, and we look forward to seeing more interconnection of Internet platform tools. However, platforms should be truly interconnected, rather than the exchange of interests and functional ecology of Internet platforms.
