On October 8, Robin Lee, the founder of Baidu, sent an email to all staff, announcing a new round of cadre rotation: Julius, the executive vice president of Baidu Group, took the post of head of Mobile Eco Group (MEG), and no longer served as CFO of the Group. At the same time, the Health Business Group (HCG) was merged into MEG. Baidu Group's Senior Vice President, He Junjie (Jackson), has rotated to serve as Acting CFO and will no longer be in charge of MEG.
Internal information shows that in the future, Luo Rong will lead the MEG team to adhere to a long-term approach, further integrate the advantages of AI technology with front-end products, and continuously explore and develop AI applications. He Junjie, who has both business management experience and rotation experience in investment and other departments, will lead the finance team to provide strong support for Baidu's business development.
It is worth noting that the internal letter repeatedly mentions the "intelligent ecosystem", which is regarded by the industry as Baidu's next breakthrough point in the AI era. The internal letter pointed out that in the new situation of rapid development of intelligent ecology, it is expected that HCG's health business and MEG's mobile ecology will be deeply integrated and complement each other's advantages. We also look forward to Luo Rong leading MEG to build a more prosperous and powerful intelligent ecosystem for Baidu.
It is reported that Baidu has implemented a cadre rotation system since 2011, continuously adapting to the changing market by introducing OKR performance management system, adjusting the B2B organizational structure, and advocating for younger cadres. Like most technology companies such as Huawei and Alibaba, Baidu organizes cadre rotations every two to three years to cope with technological iteration and industry changes in the AI era.
