Industry insiders: TSMC's German factory will start production by the end of the year, with the earliest production date being by the end of 2027. According to reports, a semiconductor equipment company has confirmed the list of related construction, factory engineering, and equipment supply chain cooperation for TSMC's Dresden 12 inch factory in Germany over the past year. The German factory mainly focuses on the 28/22~16/12 nanometer process, aiming to target the automotive and industrial markets. Construction will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, and it is expected to move into machine equipment in the third quarter of 2026. A mini production line with a monthly capacity of 3000 pieces will be established in the first quarter of 2027, and mass production will begin as early as the fourth quarter of 2027. The goal of gradually achieving a monthly production capacity of 40000 pieces will be achieved by 2028.
