Cai Jia was previously sued by Tesla (TSLA. US) for infringement of reputation. Tesla stated that Cai Jia has repeatedly made false statements on the internet that defame and smear Tesla, causing a negative impact on the reputation of Tesla's company, products, and employees. According to the effective court ruling, Cai Jia needs to publish a public apology statement in the Legal Daily and compensate Tesla with 400000 yuan.
Cai Jia is the "Boss Cai" of the online red car reviewer. Tiktok once had more than 5 million fans and more than 7 million fans throughout the network. In December last year, the Office of Cyberspace Affairs reported a number of typical cases of destroying the business network environment, including Cai Jia's multiple accounts on the list, the microblog platform account "one dish and two dishes", the Tiktok platform account "Boss Cai", and the WeChat platform account "Meiyan Auto". They released untrue information, maliciously slandered the product quality and reputation of an auto enterprise, and continued to deliberately hype it. The accounts involved have been lawfully closed.
Mr. Cai was once forced by the court for refusing to apologize to Tesla, which sparked heated discussions.
Cai Jia revealed in a video in 2021 that one of his friends is one of Tesla's suppliers. Tesla has adopted measures such as lowering prices, strict payment methods, or cycles to suppliers after localization, which may cause quality problems with their products. At the same time, Tesla's personnel responsible for inspection and supplier personnel have engaged in behaviors such as taking bribes.
In 2022, the Intermediate People's Court of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province ruled that Cai Jia publicly apologized to Tesla and compensated Tesla with 100000 yuan. The court found that the video content of "Mr. Cai" has no factual basis and is a fabrication of false facts. Moreover, Mr. Cai's words in the video were quite intense, with obvious insults and negative evaluations, which exceeded the reasonable scope of supervision and criticism, and had the intention of insulting and defaming Tesla.
On June 6, 2023, Tesla posted on its official Weibo account that after losing the lawsuit for infringing on Tesla's reputation rights, Cai was forcibly enforced by the Ningbo Intermediate People's Court in Zhejiang Province for refusing to fulfill his obligation to publicly apologize on relevant online platforms.
