Toyota announced on July 5th that it has completed an investigation into the certification process for all domestically produced Japanese car models in the past 10 years. The investigation confirmed that no new cases of certification violations were found. Toyota has reported this situation to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport. Toyota apologizes again for any inconvenience caused to customers and promises to take appropriate measures in accordance with the guidance of the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport.
Previously, on June 3rd, Toyota announced that it had conducted an investigation into its vehicle certification application on January 26th of this year, in accordance with instructions from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Although the investigation is still ongoing, the testing methods of seven models (including some models that have been discontinued since 2014) do not comply with government standards. The company reported this situation to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport on May 31. As of the end of April this year, the total number of vehicles involved in the company's testing violations was approximately 1.7 million.
