On July 1st, Google announced on its official website that it will collaborate with BlackRock's Climate Infrastructure business unit to support the development of a 1 gigawatt new solar energy project in Taiwan. Google claims to have invested in Yongxin Energy, a Taiwanese solar power operator under BlackRock, and expects to purchase up to 300 megawatts of solar energy from this pipeline through a power purchase agreement and related energy attribute certificates to help meet the power needs of the company's data center park, cloud services, and Taiwan office.
