According to a report by the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK) on May 3, Nippon Steel Corporation announced that its plan to acquire American Steel Corporation will be postponed until the end of this year. Nippon Steel had originally planned to complete its acquisition of American Steel Company before September this year, but after considering the time required to obtain approval from relevant US departments for the acquisition, it was decided to postpone the completion of the acquisition.
