On April 5th local time, Apple urged the US Court of Appeals to overturn the decision of the International Trade Commission (ITC) to ban the import of certain Apple watches. Apple stated that ITC's decision was based on a "series of substantively flawed patent rulings," and medical device manufacturer Masimo failed to prove that its investment in producing US products that are sufficient to justify the rulings and competitive. To avoid relevant bans, Apple has removed the blood oxygen function from its latest smartwatch Series 9 series and Ultra 2. Masimo revealed in January this year that the US Customs and Border Protection approved this measure on January 12th. The agency has decided that Apple's redesigned Apple watch is not within the scope of the US International Trade Commission's import ban, indicating that this adjustment will allow Apple watches to continue to be sold in the market.
