On March 20th, Airbnb Airbnb held a spring outbound travel trend press conference in Beijing. The Daily Economic News reporter learned at the press conference that during the 2024 Spring Festival, the pre order volume of outbound travel for mainland Chinese users on the Airbnb platform increased by more than 7 times year-on-year.

According to Kong Zhiqiu, the head of Airbnb's China business, revealed data at the press conference, the Chinese outbound tourism market has continued to stabilize and recover from the "longest Spring Festival holiday" to the "spring holiday holiday roaming", showing an accelerating recovery trend. According to the current statistics of the Airbnb platform, during this year's Qingming Festival, the search popularity for outbound travel by mainland Chinese users on the platform has reached 2.5 times that of the same period in 2023, with the search popularity for destinations in the Asia Pacific region increasing by 3.5 times year-on-year.
From the perspective of destinations, this spring, the geothermal intensity of Asia Pacific destinations has not decreased, and long-distance flight destinations have continued to heat up. The top ten most popular outbound destinations for mainland Chinese users on the Airbnb platform are Japan, New Zealand, the United States, Italy, France, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Spain. In terms of user profiles, according to data from the Airbnb platform, group travel methods of three or more people were popular among consumers during this year's Qingming Festival. On social media platforms, search terms such as "travel partners" and "finding partners" frequently make headlines.
