Former Apple executive Pete Distad announced on March 15th that he will serve as CEO of a sports streaming joint venture formed by Walt Disney, Warner Bros. Exploration, and Fox.
Diestad worked at Apple for nearly 10 years and was responsible for the company's streaming and sports business before leaving. After assuming the position of CEO of the new company, Distad will report to the board of directors, whose members include representatives selected by each of the three companies.
Fox CEO Lackland Murdoch announced earlier this month that a new sports streaming will be launched this autumn and is expected to have 5 million users in the first five years after its launch.
