Tesla, which just experienced a big drop last night, has fallen again!
According to the Berlin Morning Post, Tesla's factory in Greenhead, Germany was suspected to have been set on fire by environmentalists in the early hours of Tuesday, resulting in damage to power facilities, factory shutdown, and power outages in some areas of Berlin.
The Greenhead factory in Germany is Tesla's second overseas super factory after the Shanghai super factory, and also Tesla's first manufacturing base in Europe. At present, the annual production capacity of the factory is about 500000 vehicles. The impact of the factory shutdown on Tesla is also evident. As of press release, Tesla fell more than 2.5% before trading.
German factory caught fire again

The bomb disposal experts are all here

According to reports, in the early hours of Tuesday, Tesla's Gruenheide factory in Germany was forced to shut down due to a power outage, as environmental activists were suspected of setting fire and igniting a substation. The report indicates that the German police bomb disposal team has arrived at the scene, and in addition to the factory, some other nearby areas have also experienced power outages.
The German police said they received a phone call earlier reminding them that a power tower was burning in the Gosen Neu Zittau area near Tesla's factory, causing power outages in the surrounding areas, especially in the Freienprint area in southeastern Berlin.
As of now, the number of employees at Tesla's German factory has reached 11500, with an annual production capacity of approximately 500000 cars. It is Tesla's second overseas super factory after the Shanghai super factory and also Tesla's first manufacturing base in Europe. The factory started producing Model Y cars in March 2022. The company calls this factory its "most modern, sustainable, and efficient factory".
Tesla announced its expansion plan in July 2023, aiming to increase the factory's annual production to 1 million vehicles and double its battery capacity to 100 million kilowatt hours, thereby dominating the European electric vehicle market.
Although the plan will provide 22500 job opportunities for the local area, Tesla's German factory expansion plan has been opposed by local residents due to environmental issues. It is understood that this expansion project plans to build a railway freight station, warehouse, and a kindergarten for employees' children on 170 hectares of land, which may result in deforestation of 100 hectares.
This has sparked strong protests from local environmental organizers. On February 20, 2024 local time, the mayor of Glenhead, Brandenburg, eastern Germany, stated that Tesla's expansion plan in the area has faced opposition from the majority of residents. A referendum conducted by the local government showed that 3499 residents living near the factory opposed the expansion plan, with only 1882 people voting in favor.
In fact, this is not the first time Tesla's German factory has caught fire. On the early morning of September 26, 2022, a fire broke out at Tesla's super factory located in Greenhead, Germany.
It was reported that in the early hours of the morning, a fire broke out at an outdoor recycling point in the northeast of the factory area, with approximately 800 cubic meters of cardboard, paper, and sawdust catching fire. The fire lasted for 5 hours, fortunately there were no casualties.
At that time, environmental organizations protested and proposed that the Berlin factory immediately stop production to prevent further pollution of groundwater by pollutants. But Tesla's German factory did not stop production as a result. On that day, Tesla's stock price was not affected as a result.

Musk ranks second with a net asset of $19.8 billion, while LV CEO Arnold, who is 74 years old, ranks third with $19.7 billion.
