On February 27th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference. According to reports, NVIDIA has recently listed Huawei as a major competitor in multiple categories, including AI chips, in a document submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Meanwhile, it is stated that if the US government increases restrictions on chip exports, it will further damage Nvidia's competitiveness. What is the spokesperson's comment on this?
Mao Ning stated that it has been proven that "small courtyards and high walls" cannot stop the pace of China's innovation and development, nor is it conducive to the healthy development of the entire industry, including American enterprises. Open cooperation is the core driving force of the semiconductor industry, and China is one of the world's major semiconductor markets. Artificially segmenting the market, disrupting the stability of the global supply chain, hindering efficiency and innovation, is not in the interest of either party.
"The United States should abide by the principles of market economy and fair competition, and support enterprises from various countries to promote the development and progress of technology through healthy competition." Mao Ning said.
