Shanghai Securities News China Securities Network (Reporter Wang Wenyan) FedEx, a subsidiary of FedEx Group, announced on February 22 that the company will build a new transit center for the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and Africa at Dubai World Center Airport in the southern part of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the aim of expanding FedEx's business footprint in the Middle East. The establishment of transit centers in the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and Africa demonstrates FedEx's long-term investment in the UAE economy. The total investment of the transfer center, including internal facility construction and technological improvement, exceeds 350 million US dollars. Covering an area of 57000 square meters, it adopts advanced technology including automatic sorting systems to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and speed of package processing and distribution. The transfer center is also equipped with two artificial intelligence automatic high-speed X-ray machines, which can safely and efficiently complete the scanning of goods. In addition, the facility also has a 170 square meter cold storage to meet the transportation needs of various temperature sensitive goods.
