Apple will face a fine of nearly 500 million euros from the European Union for violating regulations. EU regulatory agencies are investigating allegations that Apple is suppressing music streaming competitors, including Spotify, on its platform. According to insiders, this will be the first time Apple has been punished by the European Union. Previously, EU regulatory agencies found that Apple violated competition rules by preventing competitors from informing users of cheaper alternatives outside of its App Store through music services. Apple also faces pressure from individual EU member states.
