This year's "Double 11", Vipshop's focus is on "quality consumption". On October 20th, Vipshop, a specialty e-commerce platform, announced a strategic cooperation with China National Inspection and Quarantine Corporation. The two sides will deepen cooperation around product quality inspection and certification, corporate social responsibility, and other aspects to create a digital, standardized, and replicable consumer product quality assurance system.
Liu Luxun, Assistant CEO of Vipshop, said at the meeting, "We are deepening our cooperation with China Inspection and Quarantine Corporation (CICC) in the hope of leveraging CICC's professional capabilities in quality inspection and testing to provide beneficial supplements to Vipshop's quality control system. From a consumer perspective, it is equivalent to Vipshop providing an additional guarantee for product quality in addition to the supply chain guarantee, which can enhance consumers' trust in purchasing products
In fact, as a special selling platform, how to build a more trusting relationship with consumers has always been the focus of Vipshop's construction. Prior to this, Vipshop had already established its own appraisal center and cooperated directly with the brand.
According to the financial report for the second quarter of 2023, Vipshop had 45.7 million active users in the second quarter of 2023. Among them, throughout 2021, Vipshop's core SVIP users accounted for 36% of the total transaction volume, and in 2022, this proportion increased to 41%. This time, the management of Vipshop revealed at the meeting that as of the end of June, Vipshop had 6.7 million SVIPs, contributing 44% of online sales.
Loyal and active consumers led to a year-on-year increase of 13.6% in Vipshop's total net income in the second quarter of 2023, from 24.5 billion yuan in the previous quarter to 27.9 billion yuan, continuing the record of 43 consecutive quarters of profit.
From Liu Luxun's sharing, it can be seen that Vipshop's high-value commodity related business has grown significantly in the past two years. It is understood that in the first half of this year, the sales of high value goods on Vipshop platform increased by 31% year-on-year, and in the second quarter, the sales increased by over 45% year-on-year.
