The latest discovery by US regulatory agencies that GLP-1 weight loss drugs such as Wegovy under Novo Nordisk are not associated with suicidal thoughts is a positive signal for these popular drugs and a significant relief from people's doubts. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a statement on Thursday stating, "Our preliminary assessment found that the use of these weight loss drugs does not increase suicidal thoughts or lead to suicidal behavior." However, out of caution, the FDA emphasized that due to the relatively small number of reports related to suicide, this risk cannot be completely ruled out, and will continue to monitor this issue in the future.
