Recently, Dingdong Maicai released its latest personnel appointment on its official website, announcing the appointment of Wang Song, the current director and senior vice president of the company, as the Chief Financial Officer. Effective from December 26, 2023, Wang Song will be primarily responsible for Dingdong Maicai's overall financial affairs and investor relations affairs. In addition, Dingdong Maicai has appointed Gong Hongli, the current Senior Vice President of the company, as the Chief Human Resources Officer, who will be responsible for overseeing the overall human resources management of the company, effective from December 26th.
Wang Song's previous resume has received attention from the outside world. According to the official website of Dingdong Maicai, Wang Song has served as the Senior Vice President and Director of Dingdong Maicai since September 2023, with nearly 17 years of experience in the Chinese consumer and retail industry. Before joining Dingdong Maicai, Wang Song served as the CFO of Ele.me, CFO of Lianhua Supermarket, and head of the finance department of Hema Fresh.
Prior to this, Wang Song worked in the finance departments of multiple companies, managing and operating their financial activities. Formerly served as Senior Financial Director of Yiguo E-commerce, Head of Yihai Kerry (Golden Dragon Fish) Financial Shared Service Center, and Financial Manager of Huawei Technology Co., Ltd.
The reporter noticed that in the 2023 Q3 performance report released by Dingdong Maicai in November this year, Wang Song once commented on the performance as a senior vice president. He stated that since the fourth quarter of 2022, Dingdong Maicai has achieved non GAAP profits for four consecutive quarters.
According to the third quarter report of Dingdong Maicai, the net profit for that quarter was 2.104 million yuan, and the net loss for the same period in 2022 was 344.9 million yuan; Non GAAP had a net profit of 15.5 million yuan and a net loss of 285.2 million yuan in the same period of 2022.
However, it seems difficult to balance scale and profit. Performance data shows that Dingdong Maicai's revenue in the third quarter was 5.1397 billion yuan, compared to 5.9425 billion yuan in the same period of 2022, a year-on-year decrease of 13.51%.
