LinkedIn is a job and career oriented social media platform under Microsoft. As the company seeks to streamline operations, it will lay off approximately 670 positions involving engineering, product, talent, and finance teams.
In a statement, the company said, "We will continue to invest in future strategic priorities to ensure that we continue to create value for our members and customers
This is the second round of layoffs for LinkedIn this year, after the company laid off more than 700 employees in May and closed its recruitment application for the Chinese market, InCareer.
The latest round of layoffs comes as Microsoft is vigorously developing generative artificial intelligence and preparing to launch an artificial intelligence workplace software called Microsoft 365 Copilot.
