On December 13th, Autohome announced the appointment of Wu Tao as a director and CEO of the company, responsible for overall strategic planning, organizational management, and business development. The appointment will take effect immediately. Longquan serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Autohome.
Wu Tao graduated from Tsinghua University with a Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering in July 1995, and has over 28 years of work experience in industries such as property insurance, automotive services, and the internet. Prior to this appointment, Wu Tao served as the Executive Director and Deputy General Manager of Ping An Property Insurance Co., Ltd. ("Ping An Property Insurance") in China. Since joining Ping An Group in September 2001, Wu Tao has held multiple leadership positions, including Deputy General Manager of Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance Xiamen Branch, Deputy General Manager of Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance Fujian Branch, General Manager of Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance Vehicle Insurance Italian Health Insurance Claims Department, General Manager of Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance Guangdong Branch, and Director of Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance Operations. From July 2016 to November 2020, he also served as Vice President of Autohome.

It is reported that after becoming the CEO of Autohome, Wu Tao helped Autohome achieve innovative breakthroughs in emerging business fields such as new energy, used cars, and digitalization. He will also continue to leverage his experience and advantages in the construction of the automotive ecosystem, focusing on connecting online and offline channel resources, and creating a complete closed loop of "viewing, buying, using, and exchanging cars".
Previously, Longquan had been appointed as the Chairman and CEO of Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance. Autohome stated that under the leadership of Longquan and Wu Tao, Autohome will accelerate its integration into the automotive ecosystem of Ping An Group, strengthen the integration of internal resources within the group, and open up a new situation for the transformation and upgrading of China's automotive industry.
