HSBC Holdings announced on December 6th on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that Nie Dewei has confirmed his intention to resign from the board of directors and will not seek re-election at the company's 2024 annual general meeting on May 3, 2024; Libert will be appointed as the Chairman of the Group Supervisory Committee, effective from February 21, 2024; Ms. Gao Anxian will be appointed as a senior independent director, effective from the end of the company's 2024 annual general meeting. Ms. Gao Anxian and Liebert will replace Nie Dewei. Nie Dewei is currently a Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Group Supervision Committee, and will retire from his position by the Board of Directors immediately after the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. Relevant appointments require regulatory approval.
