On December 5th, Amazon's streaming platform Twitch released a statement stating that due to high operating costs, Twitch will end its Korean business on February 27th next year.
Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said that despite South Korea's efforts to reduce costs, network expenses are still 10 times higher than most other countries, and the company's South Korean business has been in a serious loss making state. Clancy stated that Twitch will help local streaming users switch to other live streaming services.
