On November 24th, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced that Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. had filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Defective Automotive Product Recalls" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automotive Product Recalls". Starting from now on, a total of 2 imported Model X electric vehicles with production dates from July 7, 2023 to August 1, 2023 will be recalled.
The vehicles within the scope of this recall have undergone steering wheel type modifications at the Tesla Service Center, but the modified new steering wheel still has airbags of the original type installed, resulting in a mismatch between the airbags and the new steering wheel. When a vehicle collides, the protective performance of the airbag may be affected, which increases the risk of driver injury in accidents and poses a safety hazard.
Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will inspect vehicles within the recall scope. If it is found that the airbag type does not match the steering wheel type, it will be replaced with the correct type of airbag for free to eliminate safety hazards.
